Barnetta Barnes, Vice Chair and Acting Board Chair

Barnetta F. Barnes is a Mississippi native, however she has called Texas home for over 14 years. Barnetta is a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas with a Master of Business Administration with a dual concentration in Management and Finance.

Barnetta joined Foundation for the Future with over eleven years of corporate experience as an engineer, a banker, and consultant. Barnetta began volunteering as a mentor and tutor for a local elementary school while attending Prairie View. Barnetta started a volunteer program at Motorola, Inc where she worked as an engineer for nearly eight years. Barnetta later went on to work directly with children as a math teacher.

Barnetta’s passion for empowering females was heightened in 2007 when she was introduced to Vitiligo, a skin disorder that literally robs the body of its color, first brought to public attention by Michael Jackson. In the summer of 2009, Barnetta founded Mosaic Life Online, an Internet Media Company. The company is centered on a blog focusing on uplifting the spirit, improving the self-image, positive living, and Vitiligo awareness. Barnetta brings many of these basic cornerstones to Foundation for the Future, specifically improving the self-image of girls.

 
                          La Tasha Taylor, Secretary

La Tasha L. Taylor is founder of Virtual Paralegal and Virtual Legal Support. La Tasha was born in Natchez, Mississippi but raised in the “Bay Area” of California. Born with a spirit of determination and creativity, she knew she would embrace her entrepreneurial gifts to assist and empower others. She likes to refer to herself as the unintentional motivational speaker where her conversations with people usually end up with some type of empowerment advice.
 
La Tasha decided to pursue a career in the field of Law because she wanted to lend a hand to help people she might have not otherwise had the opportunity to meet. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from the University of Maryland University College located in Adelphi, Maryland. La Tasha is presently pursuing her MBA from the University of Phoenix. She has several years of legal experience working in the corporate sector and over ten years of administrative experience which includes managing and overseeing multiple company projects.

La Tasha is also co-editor of an on-line magazine, BEAUTIFULLY SAID. Each month the publication is geared towards providing enlightening and positive articles that African American women can use to enhance their lives. Her personal passion is writing. She believes there is nothing more freeing than to express yourself or the thoughts of others with just a simple pen and paper.

La Trisha LaNae’ Taylor is Co-Owner and overseer of production for all Beautifully Said business and financials. She is also the owner and designer of Tula Couture a dynamic fashion forward jewelry and beauty business was born in Natchez, Mississippi but raised in the “Bay Area” of California. Tula Couture has been featured on Coloredpeople.net, Thrifty Fifty, and Waking Passion Blog Talk Radio Shows and is currently the premier jewelry designer for the upcoming Guilty Pleasure Cosmetics Fashion Show.

Through her love of writing La Trisha has steadily built a fan base with the inspirational quotes that she writes. Presently she is compiling quotations to present in book format for those that have followed her work.“Writing allows me to tell a story and gives my followers a platform on which they have a voice to speak; designing allows me the luxury of sharing my creativity with the world”.
